Sajda Ahmed is a prominent Indian politician and social worker from West Bengal, serving as the Member of Parliament for the Uluberia constituency. She represents the All India Trinamool Congress (AITC) and was re-elected to the 18th Lok Sabha in 2024. Sajda Ahmed was born on August 15, 1961. She holds a B.A. degree from the University of Calcutta, acquired in 1982. She is the wife of the late Sultan Ahmed, a highly influential figure in West Bengal politics. Sultan Ahmed was a former Union Minister of State for Tourism and served as a five-term Member of Parliament from Uluberia. He also had a notable career as a retired Indian Police Service (IPS) officer. Following her husband’s death in 2017, Sajda Ahmed entered politics to contest the Uluberia Lok Sabha by-election, stepping into the political legacy he left behind. The couple has one son.
